The Secrets of Wilford Creek

Don't Go Down to the Valley at Night

About

Wilford Creek and Adam, Eve, & Isabell are the first of two books I published. I own the mistakes, and there were a lot:

  • I went too fast. My overzealous desire to publish a book replaced a cautious approach. Lesson Learned: Take time to create a professional product. These two books are not.
  • I didn't use a professional editor. I should have edited the book line by line. Instead, I let Grammarly and ProWritingAid do the work for me. Lesson Learned: Don't be lazy; edit your work.
  • I created the cover.  Graphic design is a niche business. Lesson Learned: Stay in my lane. I'm a writer, not a graphic designer.
  • I did not use an outline. That is the greatest lesson I've learned over the past five years. Albert Zuckerman taught me this in his amazing book, Writing the Blockbuster Novel. Lesson Learned: Outline the entire book, from start to finish.

I should edit and republish both books. That would be a smart move. Instead, I'll leave them as they are to let you see my folly. Both are available on Amazon, but don't get your hopes up. That said, they are good books, with a great story arc. They just aren't polished, and polish is part of what you pay for when you invest your money in a book.

Praise for this book

This book is a masterclass in storytelling, blending suspense and emotion in a way that keeps you hooked from the first page to the last.
